Job Description
SCPS is seeking a Supervisor of Student Support Services to collaboratively provide vision and leadership for the Office of Student Support Services through strategic planning organizing directing administering and evaluating special education programs and services in compliance with federal state and local regulations. This position will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Assistant Director to meet and exceed division and department goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Directs support to school locations for instructional planning implementation and curriculum development/service delivery model
- Assists the Executive Director and Assistant Director with general oversight management and leadership for the Office of Student Support Services
- Assists with fiscal management and Instructional planning for the Office of Student Support Services
- Assists building administration with evaluation and supervision of special education personnel.
- Assists the professional development department with the development implementation and evaluation of professional learning activities for special education personnel
- Assists the Human Resources department with recruiting screening interviewing and recommending personnel for positions in special education
- Assists in directing curriculum planning and development of special education

Education and Experience:
- Masters Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three 3 years of successful teaching experience and/or three 3 years of experience in a PreK12 leadership position.
Preferred
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement or provisional endorsement as Administrator
- Considerable experience and demonstrated success in providing special education services as a School Based Administrator
