This year we are launching an exciting new Summer Food Programfeaturing noncongregate feeding at three locations across the District: Fruitdale Elementary Illinois Valley High and North Valley High Schools. Each location will be distributing threeday and fourday food boxes on Mondays and location will be staffed with a minimum of four positions working sevenhours a day five days a week. Up to 20 positions are available depending on program demand. Service will be from June 12th to August 14th 2025 for a maximum of 50 days. Some applicants could be hired as substitute staff to fill in as needed.

Existing Food Service Staff will be compensated at their regular rate. District employees who want to be involved in this program will keep their steps and be paid at the FS II rate. New to Three Rivers employees will be placed on the FS II step 1 rate.

JOB SUMMARY

Works with Food Service team members preparing nutritious and attractive meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean kitchen and cafeteria and observing all Health Department regulations to create a safe and healthy work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.

  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of applicable District policy(ies) and procedures.
  2. Assists in the preparation of school meals to include participating in the planning cutting cooking and preparation of food items.
  3. Assists in set up of serving lines and serving of food.
  4. Measures accurate food temperatures.
  5. Maintains a safe and clean work area.
  6. Reacts to changes in food production and handles other tasks as assigned.
  7. Washes dishes and operates automatic kitchen equipment maintaining sanitary specifications.
  8. Accurately setsup and stores equipment used to serve food.
  9. Shuts off breaks down and sanitizes designated areas and items.
  10. Rotates and stocks food on delivery days.
  11. Knows and follows all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.
  12. Maintains a high standard of personal cleanliness and good grooming as per sanitation code and District policy.
  13. Maintain records as required electronically and in printed format.
  14. Assists in the maintenance of quality and portion control of food served.
  15. Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
  16. Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students staff administrators and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
  17. Communicates clearly with coworkers and other staff.
  18. Dress professionally for the position.
  19. Attends work daily as assigned and is puncual.
  20. Adheres to daily schedule.
