Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a MidLevel Defensive Cyber Software Engineer to work with a diverse highly skilled team to develop unique solutions for Cyber EW and PNT threats against US weapon systems. This position will specifically focus on leading and executing the development of network security detection algorithms for tactical edge intrusion detection systems. This position will also focus on vulnerability research and prioritization of software development tasks. This is a fulltime position with the Leidos Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) team that is based in Huntsville Alabama.
Primary Responsibilities
Developing software and/or techniques in the protection of data networks and netcentric capabilities as well as detection of identification of and response to attacks.
Research and development of signature and behaviorbased defensive techniques against adversarial attacks on tactical networks.
Developing technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts deep analyses and understanding of impact on endproduct/solution.
Developing solutions to technical problems and issues through research and experimentation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in computer science computer engineering or similar degree.
Candidate must have the following experience in defensive cybersecurity areas identified above:
5 years of professional development in C C Rust Go or similar compiled languages
A good understanding of networking protocols at all layers of the networking stack and network architecture.
Experience with Agile development workflows
Knowledge of general software development best practices
Comfortable with software build systems such as CMake Meson or Bazel
Experience with version control tools
Comfortable with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity
Experience using Wireshark
Experience developing cross platform software targeting systems such as Linux Windows Embedded devices and Servergrade hardware
US Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Git
Handson experience within a security operations center (SOC).
Experience with Network Security Monitoring (NSM)
Handson experience with blue/purple/redteaming US DOD systems and/or networks
Certifications such as Network Security CySA Linux
