Overview
Compost & Garden Assistants are responsible for supporting the MidScale Compost and Vermicompost operations at FoodShare Toronto and Sunshine Garden where all of the food ss from our Good Food Program kitchen and Cafeteria spaces are composted onsite. We turn food waste into nutrientrich compost that supports community and school gardens. Facilitate workshops about composting worms gardening and resource connections for community gardens across the city. We animate and support up to 50 community compost initiatives across the City of Toronto. and support the Sunshine Garden program located at CAMH
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and requires that the applicant:

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $24.50/Hour
Benefits: Vacation in pay 8 paid days for wellness days & sick days and personal days will be prorated based on days worked/contract dates health benefits reimbursement (prorated) daily lunch stipend.
Contract Type: Fixed term Fixed hours
Duration: 8 weeks 35 hours/week)
Reports to: Community Compost Coordinator & Sunshine Garden Coordinator
Location(s) of Position: FoodShare Toronto 120 Industry Street Unit C) and various community compost locations across the city.
Anticipated Start: June 2025 (Flexibility in start date is possible but no later than June 26 2025 and ending no later than August 30 2025
