CLASS TITLE: ATHLETIC TRAINER
CLASS CODE: 7273
REPORT TO/EVALUATED BY: Principal or Designee
BASIC FUNCTION: Assist in providing the fullest possible athletic opportunity for each student by reducing healthrelated barriers to athletic performance. Offer specific care to student athletes within the permitted scope of practice including but not limited to; administering first aid treatment and rehabilitation of sportsrelated injuries according to established procedures preparing and maintaining accurate student medical records working to reduce healthrelated barriers student athletes may encounter.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises athletic training student aids and student athletes in their care when receiving medical assistance.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is directly responsible for safety wellbeing or work output of other people. The job requires exposure in an outside environment with extreme weather and temperature changes as well as occasional walks on slippery surfaces.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. The position required the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
