New Teacher & Administrator Support Specialist
Reports To: Asst. Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction
Contract Length: 190 Days
Job Summary:
The Teacher & Administrator Support Specialist plays a vital role in strengthening instructional practices and leadership capacity across the district. This position provides professional development coaching and instructional support to teachers and school leaders to improve student outcomes. The specialist will work collaboratively with school and district staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high achievement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support new and veteran teachers through coaching mentoring and modeling of effective instructional strategies.
- Provide jobembedded professional development aligned with district priorities and instructional goals.
- Collaborate with school administrators to identify areas for instructional improvement and help develop strategic action plans.
- Assist administrators in analyzing schoolwide data and using it to inform instructional decisions and leadership practices.
- Design and deliver workshops and training sessions for both teachers and administrators on best practices in curriculum instruction classroom management and educational leadership.
- Foster teacher growth through regular observations feedback and reflection conversations.
- Serve as a liaison between schools and district departments to ensure consistent implementation of instructional initiatives.
- Support onboarding and induction programs for new teachers and school leaders.
- Assist with the development and refinement of curriculum resources and assessment tools.
- Participate in instructional rounds walkthroughs and other quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid state teaching certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional practices and curriculum development.
- Strong communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and build trusting relationships.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Education Educational Leadership or related field
- Experience as an instructional coach mentor teacher or administrator
- Experience in leading professional development sessions
Working Conditions:
- Duties are performed in school buildings and district offices.
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours for training sessions or district events.
- Frequent travel between school sites within the district.
Terms of Employment:
This is a fulltime 190day position. Compensation and benefits are in accordance with the district salary schedule and boardapproved policies.
