Job Description

Food Service Worker (Cashier/Dishwasher/Server) Hanscom Campus

Responsible to: Kitchen Manager

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager the Food Service Worker fulfills various tasks essential to the daily functioning of the Food Service program.

Responsibilities includes the following but not limited to:

  • Collaborate as a team member by actively participating in food preparation and daily production of breakfast lunch snacks encompassing tasks such as prepping cooking serving cleaning and more.
  • Prepare food according to the planned menu and standardized recipes
  • Serve accurate portions of each product in adherence to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of a reimbursable meal
  • Assist in the daily cleaning of all kitchen areas including washing and sanitizing serving prepping and storage areas
  • Keep accurate records as instructed including but not limited to Adults and Students without accounts in Point of Sale Production Records Temperature Logs and Cash
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen and storage areas at intervals during the year as directed by the Kitchen Manager
  • Work efficiently and precisely under pressure
  • Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation food handlingand storage
  • Email must be checked at a minimum once aday
  • Maintain positive working relations with colleagues demonstrating consideration patience respect and selfcontrol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director
  • Report to the assigned school to substitute as needed or directed by the Food Service Director

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift cases up to 40 pounds and carry them from storage areas to work
  • Prolonged standing reaching and crouching
  • Tolerance for variations in temperature including working in cold or hot

Qualifications:

  • Serve Safe Certification is required obtainable within one year of employment
  • Allergen Training is required certification obtainable within one year of employment
  • CPR certification is required obtainable within one year of employment
  • Knowledge of a kitchen
