The Randolph Public School Physical Education teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and ideal candidate will:Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of equity and appreciation of diversityMaintain classroom managementPromote high standards and expectations for student achievementPlan and deliver effective instructionExecute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Physical Education Teachers including:1. Creating varied and engaging tasks projects and presentations that children in grades K5 can successfully accomplish2. Developing ageappropriate standards based lesson and unit plans for a range of ages grades and student abilities3. Collaborating with general subject teachers and specialist teachers to develop cross disciplinary lesson plans and integrated units that build transfer skills and knowledge in students4. Developing in each student an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise5. Inspiring each student to cultivate physical fitness hygienic habits proper nutrition good sleep habits mindfulness stress management and other social/emotional strategies and health;6. Developing strength skill agility poise and coordination in individual dual and team physical activities and sports in accordance with each pupils ability. 7. Strong emphasis on holistic health instruction incorporating physical mental and social health aspects into the classroom PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Department HeadPosition is assigned to two schools.
