Matix Lumber Inc. is a family and locally owned and operated professional building supply centre that provides for all of your building needs. We are a building supply and project centre providing project providing contractors and doit yourself builders with the tools materials design and construction services to support projects of any scale.
Matix Lumber services all sectors of the building industry and offer a comprehensive selection of quality lumber and building materials manufactured by North Americas leading producers. We provide contractors avid builders DIYers and community leaders the tools construction service and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects from start to finish.

We are looking for an Accountant to join our growing team. Consider applying for this incredible opportunity!
The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:
- Reconciling subledger to general ledger account balances.
- Completing the monthly balance sheet income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses for multiple companies
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Creating a Standard Operating Procedure Manual for accounting policies regulations and reconciliation procedures.
- Become super user on accounting systems offer suggestions for improvement.
- Assessing internal controls including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies and issues of noncompliance
- Preparing federal provincial and special tax returns.
The ideal candidate will have:
- CPA (or nearing completion).
- 3 years of accounting experience with the proven ability to support several departments within the Company.
- Working knowledge of GAAP tax laws budgetary processes and ERP implementation.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills (oral written and listening).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced work environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems
- Experience in a leadership role which includes supervising training and managing entrylevel staff.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
