Position Summary:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is a change agent challenging organizational leaders to see opportunities & drive continuous improvements and remove barriers to progress. This position plays an important role in fostering a culture of sustainable change through the implementation of 5S Kaizen Lean and Six Sigma methodology and the supporting framework to deliver business transformation. Repsonsible for defining designing and implementing continuous improvement programs as well as ensuring the programs are successfully integrated across the plant and strong strong workforce engagement is built.

Essential Functions:

1. Identify define and champion improvement projects aligned with the business strategies. Analyze improvement programs and results.
2. Facilitate problem solving and improvementbased events focused on improving safety quality delivery productivity and eliminating waste.
   1. Drive process capability improvements through variation reduction errorproofing and implementation of statistical process controls; includes gathering and analyzing data to identify and prioritize opportunities such as pareto and process capability
   2. Perform costbenefit analysis to evaluate the financial feasibility of potential process improvements.
3. Prepare and lead all Kaizen events including data collection and analysis documentation and coordinating followup action plan to ensure work is completed and improvements have provided the expected result.
4. Facilitate Value Stream mapping and Value Stream transformation.
5. Implement tools and metrics to improve visibility to operational health and lean performance:
   1. Execute lean manufacturing initiatives including setup reduction workplace organization standardized work process / workflow improvements visual management and inventory reduction.
   2. Employ lean methodology including but not limited to 5S Visual Management A3 thinking standard work and waste identification. Implement and follow through on reinforcement strategies.
   3. Develop track and communicate metrics as required.
6. Provide training and coach teammates on continuous improvement methods and initiatives to build strong workforce engagement.
7. Prepare reports summaries or presentations with improvement recommendations and activities
8. May also perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Industrial Mechanical Chemical Quality or related field) required
• Experience:
  • 3 years of work experience leading and utilizing lean and six sigma tools including 5S and Kaizen required
  • 3 years experience in an industrial or a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading and managing projects
  • Application of change management concepts
• Other Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in ononone and in group settings.
  • Ability to influence change and build engagement
  • Ability to work independently with urgency and selfdirection to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with teammates and crossfunctional teams at all levels in the organization
  • Knowledge of budgeting cost controls and quality control standards.
  • Statistical analysis skills (Minitab or other statistical software)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lean SixSigma green or black belt certified
• Experience working within an FDA/ISO regulated industry.
• Knowledge or experience working in high speed manufacturing

Working Conditions:

• Office setting and on manufacturing floor.
• Work schedule projected to be typical business hours. Some work might be required on night shifts and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Exposure toconditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Travel Requirements:

• Some occasional travel may be required for project or training related needs.

Key Relationships:

• Hourly & Salary teammates temporary contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Works independently and collaboratively with operations maintenance engineering quality and HSES.

The salary range for this position is $68000 $ base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including but not limited to relevant experience time in role base salary of internal peers prior performance business sector and geographic location. In addition to base salary the competitive compensation package may include depending on the role participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
