Schwarz is seeking a qualified and reliable Diesel Fitter (Plant) to join our growing civil construction team. Based in Gracemere and supporting sites across Central Queensland youll be responsible for the maintenance servicing and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy mobile plant used across major earthworks road construction and infrastructure delivery.
As our Diesel Fitter (Plant) you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe efficient and reliable operation of our equipment. Whether working in the workshop or responding to sitebased breakdowns your expertise will help minimise downtime improve performance and keep our projects on track across the region.

What Youll Do
- Service and repair heavy plant and mobile equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out breakdown repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure compliance and safety
- Provide onsite field service support as needed
- Complete maintenance logs and assist with parts management
- Promote WHS best practices and participate in prestart/toolbox talks
- Undertake both workshopbased and site servicing (field service)
- Collaborate with supervisors and suppliers to maintain fleet efficiency and availability
- Promote WHS compliance and contribute to safetyfocused prestart/toolbox meetings
What Were Looking For
- At least 2 years posttrade experience as a Diesel Fitter (Plant)
- Background in civil mining or road transport environments highly regarded
- Trade Qualification (Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
- Current Drivers Licence HR preferred
- White Card
- Forklift Licence preferred or willing to obtain

- Strong faultfinding and repair capability across hydraulics engines and diagnostics.
- Confident working independently in both workshop and field environments
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- High attention to detail and ownership over quality and safety
- Effective communicator and collaborative team member
- Physically fit and willing to work flexible hours including field servicing
