Job Description
GARNEY CONSTRUCTION
ASuperintendent Federalposition is available at Garney Construction. To be considered for this role you must have experience working on federal projects be able to pass a federal background check and be available for fulltime travel within the continental United States (CONUS) long term.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Garneys Annual Incident Goal meets or exceeds project APP always striving and leading towards zero project incidents for Garney EmployeeOwners and Subcontractor personnel lead daily safety meetings and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels.
- Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the affect of quality on all operations and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers and meets or exceeds our customers expectations.
- Recognize comprehend and promote sound environmental practices to meet the needs of the local regulatory agencies and Owner taking steps to comply with policies and rules. Always mitigating the effects of construction operations on the environment.
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure project or project(s) are constructed in accordance with design budget and schedule and are staffed appropriately to meet budget regulatory and schedule needs.
- Plan coordinate and supervise onsite functions and provide input with scheduling engineering and material control in order to make sure project objectives are met.
- Supervise and direct field supervisors foreman superintendents and other contractors to ensure contractual performance productivity efficient use of materials and equipment.
- Interface with all onsite work teams (including subcontractors) as required to resolve problems ensure safety quality environmental compliance scheduling and achieving schedules in support of overall project objectives.
- Assist project management in developing and implementing project work plans and procedures lookahead schedules working documents and standards to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Recruit and hire qualified individuals discharge nonqualified or noncompliant individuals to maintain highperforming teams.
- Mentor construction craft supervision and engineering staff to ensure individual development and Garney Employee Owners meet their full potential.
- Analyze training needs and opportunities and work with senior leadership to ensure needs are being met.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- General construction experience in vertical or horizontal construction; a craft background is beneficial.
- 710 years of construction experience
- Full travel availability in the continental U.S. (CONUS).
- Be able to pass a federal background check and work on federal/military facilities.
