Job Description
As a Senior Technical Writer at Resideo you will develop highquality documentationto enable Resideos global audience to sell and install home comfort safety security and energy efficiency will collaborate with crossfunctional product development teams to research and publishcontent across multiple platforms including online mobile and print formatsserving a diverse audience including installers homeowners and sales.
In this role you will conduct detailed interviews to determine project scope target audiences task flows and technical will author and validate technical content ensuring accuracy and usability through thorough testing and expert you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our documentation processes by prototyping and evaluating tools for content creation management and delivery.
Your work will play a critical role in ensuring Resideo remains a trusted choice for contractors distributors and endusers by providing clear effective performance support resources.
JOB DUTIES:
- Collaborate with Engineering Support Project Management and Marketing to define documentation architecture requirements audiences and technical information.
- Create clear concise and userfriendly technical documentationincluding installation and setup guides end user manuals technical bulletins and packaging used by technical professionals and homeowners.
- Manages documentation plans schedules review and approval processes.
- Direct the work of illustrators creating assembly and wiring diagrams and product labels.
- Develop and publish singlesourced performance support materials across multiple formats including mobile and embedded inapp platforms.
- Design and maintain printready layouts for small booklets and foldouts.
- Prepare singlesourced documentation for release to printer and follow appropriate systembased configuration and content management procedures.
- Maintain product domain expertise in assigned HVAC plumbing or security systems.
- Ensure technical documentation meets international regulatory standards.
- Manage and implement documentation translations using AI tools.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Demonstrated experience creating and publishing content for mobile applications and digital platforms.
- Proficiency with a singlesourced publication tool ideally MadCap Flare or MadCap Central though experience with similar tools such as DITA or Paligo will also be considered.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects deadlinedriven projects in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency with Adobe products including Adobe Illustrator and In Designfor highquality visual and layout design.
WE VALUE:
- Experience in the HVAC plumbing or security systems industry.
- Familiarity with MadCap orsinglesource publishing methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency creating graphics and diagrams.
- Project Management experienceincluding planning coordination and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction in a matrix organisation.
- Excitement to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Multilingual Skills.
