Role Definition
Designs develops builds and implements new products components or technologies for Gas Turbines

Responsibilities
Accountable for identifying and implementing actions to develop new Turbo Machinery Products to resolve product problems and advance turbomachinery technology. Acts independently to identify and resolve problems associated with development and implementation of operation programs. Plans R & D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish longrange objectives.

• Develop design parameters performance characteristics and technical specifications of products and components for Gas Turbines that satisfy business needs and advance safety quality velocity and cost.
• Provides key leadership in defining and directing advanced technology programs in field of specialization applying advanced principles theories and concepts.
• Expected to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
• Advises management of the technical feasibility of new ventures. Often advances in the stateoftheart are necessary and the work may lead to the results qualifying for a patent or for being published in a technical journal.
• Key contributor and leadership in Cost control programs for Gas Turbines
• Guiding the evolution of the technical design technical project planning detail design and development testing of Gas Turbines
• Provide solutions to field failures and continuous product development
• Monitoring exploring and testing new technologies materials and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities correlating to GT durability
• Is regarded as a technical lead within the Company
• Requires a thorough knowledge of advanced stateoftheart design and analytical concepts as well as a broad understanding of the operating relationship with other departments within and outside the engineering organization such as quality control purchasing manufacturing sales and marketing and product support.

Degree Requirement
Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering Computer Science or Materials Science curriculum.

Product Development Life Cycle MFG: Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases activities and deliverables of product development life cycle in manufacturing organizations; ability to bring new or enhanced products to the marketplace.

Advises others on using industry trends in a road map for product development.
Consults on similarities and differences of life cycle for development vs. enhancement activities.

Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches techniques and tools; ability to design plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

Collaborates with design team to ensure testing considerations are incorporated into system design.
