Electrical Design Engineer

What will you be doing 

 We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support electrical system integration and harness development. This role plays a critical part in delivering tightly packaged lightweight electrical solutions that meet world-class performance reliability and manufacturability standards.

Working closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams youll be at the forefront of electrical integration on complex composite-based platforms. A fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative high-precision development programmes in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Create and manage 3D electrical harness routings in Siemens NX within highly constrained packaging environments.
• Integrate electrical systems into composite structures with tight tolerances and high durability demands.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams to identify and resolve routing clashes and improve packaging efficiency.
• Deliver production-ready CAD data and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Maintain and update routing designs in line with evolving mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that system-level performance reliability and weight targets are met.
• Perform other tasks as needed to support successful electrical system integration and programme delivery.

Qualifications :

Experience skills and qualifications required: 

• Proficient Siemens NX user with extensive experience in 3D harness routing and electrical packaging.
• Background in high-performance or specialised vehicle environments with proven ability to deliver under tight timelines.
• Excellent spatial awareness and ability to work within extremely tight packaging envelopes.
• Familiarity with composite enclosures lightweight structures and packaging constraints.
• Knowledge of System 25 high-reliability connectors wiring standards and robust build practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to design.
• Confident communicator capable of working closely with design production and procurement teams.
