In this role youll:
Working as part of a transformative new team that is establishing a Bus Regulatory Transformation Program the Vehicle Engineering Manager will rely on their technical expertise to provide regulatory advice in relation to vehicle engineering and inspection practices.
Liaising with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and experts this high quality input will be key in contributing to the transformation of policies processes and standards that will ensure alignment of delivery of bus transformation initiatives that will enhance safety across NSW.
Led by the Regulatory Transformation branch this exciting role will see you support the delivery of a range of recommendations assigned as a result of the Bus Taskforce by leveraging your extensive understanding of vehicle engineering and that of the role of the regulator (The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator NHVR) within the Transport industry.
Please note that this is a temporary fixed term role up until 17/02/2027.

About you
Your experience in vehicle engineering and understanding of the wider transport industry will see you succeed in this role.
You will be experienced in the machinations of working in complex organisations that are subject to regulatory requirements industry standards monitoring review and improvements and governance and risk.
You enjoy strategic problemsolving and enjoy working towards best practice outcomes that support successful project delivery.
Youre recognised as someone who is an excellent communicator and leverages stakeholder management to drive outcomes.
You have experience providing a wide range of technical expertise within a regulatory environment and can communicate key requirement to inform policy development and reform.
If you enjoy being involved in business transformation initiatives youre motivated by being able to problem solve and come to solutions in collaboration with colleagues and energised by more strategic work and adopting a whole of division / whole of Transport perspective wed love to see your expression of interest for this opportunity.
This team is currently enjoying a hybrid way of working in line with the base office located at 231 Elizabeth St Sydney and is evolving in line with Transports policies for workplace presence.
