In this role youll:


Working as part of a transformative new team that is establishing a Bus Regulatory Transformation Program the Vehicle Inspection Advisor will provide expert technical advice in relation to light and heavy vehicle inspection standards and business rules.


Collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and experts outside of NSW this role will investigate technical standards used outside of NSW and work collaboratively to share technical learnings and support the implementation of improvement measures that will contribute to the alignment of delivery of bus transformation initiatives that will enhance safety across NSW.


Led by the Regulatory Transformation branch this exciting role will see you deliver operational guidance and technical subject matter expert knowledge in relation to inspection processes equipment requirements and timings of inspections.


Please note that this is a temporary fixed term role up until 17/02/2025.

About you


Your experience in the development of safety standards and processes working as a vehicle inspector and applied understanding of the Transport industry within a regulatory environment will see you succeed in this role.

You will have deep subject matter knowledge of inspection standards in the in the National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Manual (NHVIM) and Heavy Vehicle Authorised Inspection Scheme (HVAIS) / Authorised Inspection Scheme (AIS).

Youre recognised as someone who is an excellent communicator and enjoys collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders as you will work closely with key internal and external experts to share technical knowledge gain new skills and keep up to date with contemporary inspection standards and processes.

You adopt a riskbased lens across inspection standards as you will contribute to improvement initiatives to standards for use across NSW.

If you enjoy being involved in business transformation initiatives youre motivated by being able to problem solve and come to solutions in collaboration with colleagues and energised by more strategic work and adopting a whole of division / whole of Transport perspective wed love to see your expression of interest for this opportunity.

This team is currently enjoying a hybrid way of working in line with Transports policies for workplace presence. The base office located at 231 Elizabeth St Sydney.
