Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Five 5 years of supervision and training experience in a Financial Aid department.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support and administrative oversight of financial aid specialists officers and student employees on multiple campuses.
  • Manages the flow of Financial Aid Services walkin email and phone traffic coordinating schedules and coverage as deemed necessary.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with students families staff faculty and administration by having authentic personable conversations to foster an atmosphere of respect and understanding as it relates to financial aid.
  • Assists in the preparation of communication to students and development of new outreach opportunities to inform students and improve student experience and success in alignment with the Colleges student recruitment and retention goals.
  • Attends and provides presentations at collegewide activities including enrollment days open houses departmental meetings and other recruitment events.
  • Works to resolve complex situations including working directly with students to resolve escalated situations.
  • Assumes leadership of the department in the absence of the Director.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of Federal State and Institutional Financial aid regulations.
  • Experience with the training and management of financial aid personnel.
  • Ability to followthrough with policy and procedural implementations and affect beneficial change at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated technological proficiency with database and data manipulation products.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and College personnel.
  • Strong conceptual logical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Teamplayer attentive to detail responsible
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and meet objectives within limited time frames and under tight deadlines.
  • Candidates must possess unquestioned personal and professional ethical standards.
  • The position requires an individual with a good eye for detail outstanding communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to the principles of access and providing the best customer service and student support experience to families.
