ROLE SUMMARY:
The International School of Milan is a leading international school in Italy providing an exceptional education from Early Years through to Grade 13. We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB Biology Teacher to join our dynamic team and inspire the next generation of scientists. The IB Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering an engaging and rigorous curriculum that fosters curiosity critical thinking and a deep understanding of biological sciences. The successful candidate will have experience teaching IB Biology and a strong track record of student achievement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver highquality IB Biology lessons that align with the IB philosophy and promote inquirybased learning.
- Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independent thinking.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to a diverse range of learners.
- Assess and track student progress providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Prepare students for IB internal and external assessments ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Department to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
- Support students in their Extended Essays (EE) and Internal Assessments (IA) for IB Biology.
- Participate in school events parent meetings and extracurricular activities that contribute to the vibrant school community.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in biology and science education.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in Biology or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE QTS or equivalent).
- Experience teaching IB (MYP and DP experience is an advantage).
- A passion for science and the ability to inspire students through engaging and interactive lessons.
- Strong knowledge of IB assessment criteria and curriculum requirements.
- The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
- International school experience (preferred but not essential).
