Job Description

Position Summary

The Southeast Associate Director of Regional Recruitment provides leadership and oversight for all Georgia Florida Tennessee Alabama Arkansas North Carolina South Carolina and Mississippi undergraduate recruitment.

The Southeast Associate Director of Regional Recruitment manages all recruiting aspects of an assigned territory (including extensive travel yearround with peak times in the fall and spring) and is responsible for building strong relationships with students parents school counselors & communitybased organizations. This role will also work extensively with our Southeast community colleges and transfer students.

This position will also review applications and determine whether an applicant is academically prepared to succeed at DU (based on assessment of the students curriculum grades test scores essay recommendations activities and other attributes). Along with the entire Enrollment Division Associate Directors of Regional Recruitment share responsibility to attract excellent students by being sensitive to and understanding the diverse academic socioeconomic and cultural

backgrounds of students. The position will assist in the development implementation and coordination of the recruitment efforts to build and attract a diverse student population specifically from the Southeast market.

In addition to the recruiting duties listed above regional recruitment associate directors will also serve on a specific committee or team within our office: Visit; Diversity and College Access; Transfer; or Communication. This position seeks candidates who bring experience skill and passion to specifically partner with both our Diversity & Access Team (DAT) and Transfer Team. The role reports to the senior associate director of regional recruitment. The position will assist with supporting the mission and goals of the enrollment division by striving to achieve a critical mass of academically talented and culturally dynamic students.

Essential Functions

  • Associate Director of Regional Recruitment Admission Counseling Duties
  • Evaluate and recruit high caliber and academically qualified students within an assigned territory.
  • Have extensive knowledge of and remain current on the University of Denvers academic and degree programs clubs and organizations extracurricular programs and other key characteristics.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of and remain current on the University of Denvers academic and degree programs clubs and organizations extracurricular programs and other key campus characteristics.
  • Manage a territory by evaluating and implementing the best course of action to connect with students (what to do where to recruit methods to be used etc. in a way thats unique to that territory.
  • Plan manage and execute recruitment programs.
  • Read applications from students who have applied from assigned territories.
  • Be a students advocate during admission committee meetings to speak to a students overall match for DU.
  • Serve as a professional enthusiastic & ethical ambassador for DU.

  • Basic ability to understand industry and data trends for a territory and translate into measurable action plans.

  • Coordinate multiple events and activities while maintaining focus on details and outcome.

  • Discern the basic needs of prospective students and customize responses accordingly.
  • Excellent written verbal and public speaking skills.
  • Give professional presentations sharing the features outcomes and value of DU.
  • Maintain strong relationship management skills.
  • Possess passion and skill to work with individuals across a spectrum of differing intersectional identities.
  • Provide our key constituents with exceptional quality service.
  • Utilize and draw from both quantitative and qualitative data sources to make the most informed & comprehensive decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working or volunteering in admission recruiting college access advising sales or marketing ideally in a higher education setting (may include student employment)
  • Two to three years of professional work related to admission recruiting college access student advising sales or marketing ideally in a higher education or a college access setting
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must live in or relocate to the Atlanta Miami/Fort Lauderdale Orlando or Nashville area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a regional recruiter
  • Demonstrated results in growing a market and increasing key metrics with applications and enrollment
  • Relationship management experience
  • Strong awareness and understanding of the Southeast US recruitment market
  • Knowledge of rural students schools and community needs
  • Experience and success leading programming for traditionally underrepresented populations of students and/or parents through the college access and/or admission process
  • Extensive understanding of inclusion demographics educational equity & intersectional identity considerations within the college admission landscape
  • Familiarity with Slate Technolutions and experience developing communications for diverse markets
  • Proficiency or fluency in more than one language
  • Knowledge and experience with the University of Denver
  • Must live in or relocate to Atlanta Miami/Fort Lauderdale

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule
Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $65000 $80000

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
