Maintenance Energy Technician

Qualified candidates starting at$35.19$38.10/hr with opportunity to progress

Armstrong World Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Energy Technician to support manufacturing operations at our plant in Marietta PA. The plant manufactures mineral fiber ceiling tiles in a 24/7 fast paced environment. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the plant meets its key performance metrics and goals for safety quality throughput delivery and cost.

Schedule:May be required to work unscheduled extended hours off shifts weekends and holidays or be available by phone to provide guidance or direction to onsite personnel.

You will be responsible for maintaining repairing and tuning to maximum efficiency all energy related systems including:

  • Diagnosing cause of trouble and working with process and operations team to decide on best method of repair.
  • Making checks and inspections of Ventilation Systems Gas Equipment BM Dryer Fab Dryers LineOFlame Boiler Systems Water Treatment Systems and Perlite Expanders System.
  • Keeping records of work performed down day activities machine history gas readings and plant energy trends.
  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Maintaining records and spare parts associated with the job.
  • Maintaining personal work tools.
  • Planning and organizing work/projects for down days.
  • Mentoring others on the roles and responsibilities of the Energy Tech. Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary to expedite the function of the maintenance department.
  • Effectively working independently to make decisions on what needs done while comfortably handling changes within a dynamic production schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2year certificate or associates in an electrical field 2 years of industrial electrical experience.

(Or)5 years experience as an industrial electrician

(Or)2year certificate or associates in a HVACR program 2 years of industrial experience.

(Or)5 years experience as a commercial HVAC Technician

  • Must have the ability to work with complicated blueprints and precision measuring devices. Must understand and be able to utilize the CMMS system (SAP). Must have good communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. Must be able to work with Microsoft suite of products.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes expected.
