Job Description
RPO Recruitments client is looking for an Underwriter to join their team in Johannesburg Gauteng.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of focus attention to detail and relevant industry experience. The role encompasses underwriting and claims responsibilities within the commercial insurance division.
Responsibilities:
Commercial and personal underwriting
Marine underwriting (advantageous)
Quotations for new business
Policy amendments and endorsements
Assist with policy renewals
Conduct prerenewal discussions and negotiations
Instruct insurers to renew policies
Prepare and bind presentations (PowerPoint)
Review loss ratios
Update motor vehicle values
Prepare renewal comparisons for client presentations (Excel)
Capture amendments and renewals on the Ski Host System
Compile and forward relevant correspondence and supporting documentation to clients
Requirements:
Matric
Minimum 5 years experience in the insurance brokerage industry
Experience within an insurance brokerage is essential
Knowledge of exchange control (advantageous)
Proficiency in MS Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong product knowledge; marine knowledge is an advantage
RE5 certification
