The Opportunity: 

We are looking for Versatile curious and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer you will be an integral part of a multifunctional development team inventing designing building and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

The Work itself: 

• Design code and systems that touch 40 of the world population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability security and reusability 

• Collaborate multifunctionally to create design artifacts and develop bestinclass software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings 

• Actively contribute to product quality improvements valuable service technology and new business flows in diverse agile squads 

• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including enduser merchants b2b and business to government solutions. 

• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services Transaction Platforms RealTime Payments and Buy Now Pay Later Technology 

• Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities 

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements.

• Translates functional requirements into system designs for one or more components and communicates how the components will interact.

• Design Code test document and implement new applications & as well as existing programs.

• Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and coding best practices.

• Work with team members on technical software development issues problem analysis and resolution.

• Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate to ensure the quality of work delivered by teammates is in accordance with development standards.

• Write automation scripts to functionally automate the testing.

• Learn and adopt technologies like generative AI that provide developer productivity improvements.

• Engages with product engineering teams and product owners during code/design reviews regular meetings oncall rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didnt work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications
6 months to 1.6 years of experience with a Bachelors degree or with an advanced degree.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience with Java Kafka springboot
Experience with Spring hibernate and RDBMS technologies like PostgreSQL Oracle
Proficiency developing unit and automation scripts using Karate JUnit etc.
Knowledge of streaming pipelines / Message Queuing systems like Kafka
Understanding of web service standards and related patterns (REST JSON XML SOAP)
Understanding of architecture and design patterns
Experience in Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop Sqoop Hive spark is a plus
Experience with data analytics and reporting tools is a plus
Experience with Agile development incorporating TDD Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery utilizing technologies such as GIT Maven Jenkins Chef Sonar JUnit Mock frameworks.
Ability to present complex ideas in a clear & concise way a team player with a strong work ethic
Responsible selfdirected forward thinker and operates with focus discipline and minimal supervision.
Experience working in Agile environments to work in a fastpaced environment where iterative changes may need to go out in rapid succession.
Effective verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
