Job Description
Math Instructor/Tutor for Higher Math (parttime) Katy TX
We are looking for passionate friendly and enthusiastic people who enjoy helping kids. We will teach you everything else you need to know!
We are currently looking for energetic and passionate Math Instructors who have a strong math background and be able to work with HS students. Must be able to teach PreAlgebra Algebra I Geometry Algebra II PreCalculus and APCalculus. Being able to teach SAT/ACT prep courses and Calculus is a plus. Must have strong communication skills and love to work with children.
At this time we are looking for High School Math Instructors only. (Algebra I to PreCalculus)
Qualifications and Skills
- Teaching experience and Teaching certificates are preferred but not required.
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics or mathrelated subjects is preferred. But we also welcome college students as long as they pass the Math competency test.
- Strong communication skill
- Must pass a math competency test and background check.
- Math proficiency through PreCalculus required. Calculus is preferred.
Center Hours
We are open Mon Thur 3:30 8:00 PM and Sun 2:00 5:00 PM. Must be able to work at least for two to three days or more during the week.
Primary Objectives
- Skilled in math concepts from High School Algebra I to Calculus
- Ability to connect with parents and children
- Experience working with children preferred
Flexible Hours
This is a parttime position with flexible hours. Days and hours will vary but generally afternoon evenings and weekends. Pay will be based on education and experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- Teach/tutor incenter online and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method terminology and teaching practices
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
- Assess students learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
- Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency provide work authorization and pass a background check.
Compensation: $17.00 $20.00 per hour
Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing LLC (Mathnasium). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center the franchisee will be your employer not Mathnasium.
