About Worawa Aboriginal College

Located on a beautiful 136 acre property in the Yarra Valley 60 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD) Worawa Aboriginal College is a boarding school for Aboriginal girls in their secondary years of schooling. An Aboriginalowned and governed initiative Worawa operates on the philosophy of Walking Together to Make a Difference and this position requires the incumbent to embrace the Worawa ethos of Aboriginal values Aboriginal led decision making and the right to Aboriginal selfdetermination.

About the Role

Were looking for a warm organised and peoplefocused administrator to support our enrolments and reception as the College Registrar. Youll be the first point of contact for students families and visitors helping create a welcoming environment while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is a varied role ideal for someone with admin reception or school office experience whos ready to take on something meaningful. Youll also support enrolment processes assist to coordinate student travel and documentation arrange orientations and occasionally travel interstate to assist with recruitment and community engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to enrolment enquiries and guiding families through the enrolment process
  • Maintaining accurate student records and supporting compliance with ABSTUDY and VRQA requirements
  • Coordinating orientation travel and documentation for new students
  • Providing reception and general office support including phones and visitor management
  • Liaising with Aboriginal communities agencies and service providers during recruitment activities
  • Assisting with the coordination of school events and ensuring effective communication across teams

This is a handson role that would suit someone who is proactive great with people and enjoys variety in their workday.

Some interstate travel is required to support recruitment and community engagement initiatives.

What youll bring:

  • Previous experience in administration office support or reception (school experience highly regarded)
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel) and managing data systems
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Friendly and professional communication style both written and verbal
  • A respectful and culturally aware approach to working with Aboriginal students and communities
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel and support team needs flexibly

Required (or willingness to obtain upon appointment):

  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Current Victorian drivers licence
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid HLTAID009 CPR)
  • Mandatory Reporting certificate (NonGovernment Schools Protecting Children

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working in a school or education setting
  • Prior involvement in enrolments student services or community outreach
  • Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training
  • Knowledge or lived experience of Aboriginal culture and communities
