We are seeking a Criminal Justice Field Representative in the Bureau of Community Reinvestment. This position will be located in DYS Central Office 30 W. Spring St. 5th floor Columbus OH 43215.

Our mission at the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) is to improve Ohios future by habilitating youth and empowering families and communities. We believe that all youth will be given an opportunity to live up to their greatest potential and staff are our greatest resource.
DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders ages 1021 who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohios 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. DYS reaches thousands of youth in facilities and those on parole.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a preemployment drug screening and criminal background check that includes results from BCI & FBI. An individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must complete a mandatory 3 week preservice training located at DYS Training Academy in Orient Ohio. The hours for the training academy are Monday through Thursday 7:00 am 5:00 pm.
Answers to the supplemental questions must be supported by information submitted on the application.
DYS is a qualifying employer for purposes of the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness PSLF program.
2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in monitoring criminal justice programs or grants; must be able to provide own transportation.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in criminal justice criminology law enforcement political science sociology or public/business administration; must be able to provide own transportation.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
