Thurrock is an exciting place to live and work. We are an emerging cultural and arts centre home to the production centre for the Royal Opera House and the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills. We have retail and leisure that is among the best with the magnificent Lakeside and breathtaking countryside all around. There is over 1000 acres of land ready for commercial development and there are likely to be 30000 new homes built with transport links that can get you into London and other parts of the UK quickly and easily.
We are an area of massive growth; 6bn has already been invested by the private sector in Thurrock. We have seen 7000 new jobs created with a further 30000 anticipated in the next 20 years and 1170 new businesses in the borough with leading centres in ports and logistics retail and creative industries.
Thurrock Councils Homeownership Service has an exciting opportunity to join an established housing department as Homeownership Services Manager. This is a management position within the Place Directorate responsible for leading a team to deliver highquality leasehold management service charge setting and Right to Buy administration to support Council leaseholders while ensuring compliance with relevant housing regulations and legislation.
Thurrock Council manages a diverse homeownership portfolio consisting of leasehold and freehold properties across the borough. This portfolio presents a unique opportunity to engage with a range of tenure types ensuring that leaseholders and homeowners receive excellent service.
This role provides a unique challenge for an initiativetaking and strategic leader with a vision for improving homeownership services. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving service improvements ensuring financial accuracy in service charges and maintaining strong relationships with leaseholders and key stakeholders.
A key part of the role will be championing customer engagement ensuring leaseholders are wellinformed and that their voices are heard in decisionmaking processes. They will lead on ensuring transparency in billing managing disputes effectively and implementing best practices in leasehold services.
We are seeking an initiativetaking individual who can selfmanage their time effectively while also working collaboratively with other housing teams to enhance homeownership service delivery. You must have the ability to develop policies manage financial risks and support members of the homeownership team to meet targets.
The successful candidate would have a strong understanding of homeownership legislation economic management and dispute resolution and would be expected to hit the ground running in this role.
