Your next career opportunity
As a Lecturer in Screenwriting at the Victorian College of the Arts youll have the opportunity to shape the future of screenwriting education. Youll develop and deliver highquality professionally relevant learning experiences in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Screenwriting) and other programs. Your expertise as a practicing screenwriter will contribute to fostering a learning environment that reflects current creative practice and builds strong graduate outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Deliver Engaging Curriculum: Create and teach highquality screenwriting subjects ensuring content remains current and professionally relevant.
  • Coordinate Subjects: Plan manage and deliver assigned subjects including lesson planning assessment design and oversight of sessional staff.
  • Foster Student Success: Mentor and support students through supervision consultation and involvement in cocurricular activities.
  • Engage with the Industry: Participate in the professional arts sector and foster collaborative partnerships with external industry networks.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced screenwriter with a passion for teaching bringing contemporary industry knowledge and a commitment to fostering inclusive innovative learning environments that prepare students for successful careers in the screen industries.

You may also:

  • Have a proven track record of excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Possess demonstrated screenwriting practice with work in film television or related performing arts areas.
  • Exhibit strong management skills including inclusive decisionmaking and sound planning.
  • Show a commitment to innovation in curriculum design and teaching methods.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
