Overview:
The ClinicalMental HealthCase Manager is responsible for conducting culturally sensitive trauma responsivecase management and skill building servicesfor individuals and families of all ages who have experienced/witnessed child maltreatment domestic violence and or sexual in a multidisciplinary setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Clinical Program Manager theMental HealthCase Manager(MHCM)will provide inhome case management on a weekly basis (or as scheduled depending on program requirements and family needs) for clients enrolled in the Family Preservation (FP) program. The MHCMwill utilize a strengthsbased model to 1 assess child and caregiver needs including the completion of standard assessments; 2 address child maltreatment risk factors and/or causes of identified child maltreatment and related attachment challenges; 3 design interventions to promote child safety & permanency enhance caregiver capacity/protective factors and build on strengths; 4 identify and respond to red flag issues and crises; 5 provide appropriate referrals and linkages; 6 advocate for children and families; 7 provide inhome skills building; 8 provide inhome individual and/or family case management; and/or 9 provide other services as required/suggested by the Supervisor; 10 attend required meetings and trainings includingteam case meetings; 11 Provide inhome parent training utilizing the Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum. May additionally provide childfocused activities teaching & demonstrating and/or other case management and/or other services needed by client families. TheMHCMwill complete required case documentation in a quality timely manner following all program and agency requirements and meeting all deadlines; will coordinate referrals of clients to other Strength United programs as needed; and will perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelors degree in one of the following fields: Social Work Sociology Psychology Counseling Human Services Criminal Justice Child Development and six months of experience providing client centered services. Must have completed or be willing to complete State Certification in Domestic Violence and Sexual . Computer competency including Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with a database management system. Must pass a criminal clearance background check possess a valid CA drivers license and uptodate auto insurance. Must be willing to work in client homes and to accommodate a flexible schedule (some evening and/or weekend hours may be needed).
Knowledge Specialized Skills and Abilities
Ability to conduct a variety of standard psychological assessments upon receiving training; prepare professional reports in a timely manner; establish mutually respectful relationships in a multidisciplinary team environment; maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job; exercise independent judgment and discretion; triage or prioritize client problems; understand and adhere to professional ethics; analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action; determine appropriate courses of action and proper techniques to utilize while engaged with individuals in interactions of a sensitive nature; analyze and define problems draw valid conclusions and project consequences of various alternative courses of action; speak effectively; write narrative reports; utilize supervision effectively; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals and organizations. Requires working knowledge of the principles practices and trends in the fields of psychological assessment; crisis intervention techniques; etiology and treatment of abuse in families; specific techniques used in the treatment of children and families and of those impacted by child maltreatment and sexual and domestic violence; advocacy; community resources relating to client needs; and ability to work well with persons of varying economic levels cultures religions ethnicities and lifestyles.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting with a lowtomoderate noise level; employee will need to utilize their personal vehicle for travel to and from meetings outside the office; employee must regularly communicate by telephone written communications and inperson with staff families served partners funders and other professionals; occasionally lift carry and position objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
