About the role
We are at an exciting point in this journey following a recent reorganisation to bolster Environmental Health service delivery. There is a new structure in place all focused on rebalancing Environmental Health and delivering statutory functions using a riskbased and proportionate approach. Progress has been made but there is still a long and challenging journey ahead of us. That is why we are looking for extraordinary colleagues to join our team for what will undoubtedly be one of the most rewarding challenges of their careers.
Senior Food Safety Officer
We are looking for a candidate who has considerable experience in delivering food law enforcement either as a Food Safety Officer or Environmental Health Practitioner. We are looking for a qualified officer that holds a qualification as listed in the Food Law Code of Practice this is essential. You must be registered as a Food Safety Officer or Environmental Health Practitioner. You will have responsibility for delivering the full range of food law enforcement functions including inspections investigation of food complaints sampling and taking enforcement action.
About you
You will need to demonstrate:
- A qualification as listed in the Food Law Code of Practice to deliver the full range of official food controls
- Experience in delivering food law enforcement within a local authority setting
- Experience in carrying out a range of food hygiene and food standards inspections
- Experience in taking enforcement action
- Practical experience in food complaint investigations
