About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with transferable skills who wants to embark on a career in fundraising and to be an agent for change. As a Senior Development Manager (Indigenous) youll play a pivotal role in realising the Universitys Indigenous strategy Murmuk Djerringthrough philanthropy corporate citizenship and alumni engagement. Youll manage a portfolio of major donors secure significant gifts and collaborate with academic and community leaders to advance Indigenous priorities. This role offers you the opportunity to support transformative initiatives develop compelling fundraising strategies and make a lasting impact on Indigenous advancement in higher education.
Responsibilities include:
Manage major donor relationships: Cultivate and solicit gifts above $250000 from a portfolio of approximately 75 prospective donors to meet annual fundraising targets.
Develop compelling proposals: Create persuasive content for philanthropic priorities including case statements presentations and financial models.
Collaborate across teams: Partner with colleagues to secure transformational gifts exceeding $5 million and engage with Indigenous academic and professional staff.
Foster cultural safety: Help build a team culture that embraces Indigenous ways of working through trust respect and genuine collaboration.
About You
We seek a motivated individual with exceptional relationshipbuilding skills and a commitment to Indigenous causes. Your proactive approach and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders will be key to your success. You might come from a background in communications sales public relations business and finance the notforprofit sector or other fields involving strong relationshipbuilding. We offer training in best practices for fundraising through a comprehensive programme enhancing your skills and impact in this role.
You will also have:
Extensive experience working with Indigenous leaders communities and causes.
Proven fundraising expertise or transferable skills in securing major gifts.
Exceptional writing and communication abilities for developing persuasive proposals.
A track record of cultivating relationships with Indigenous and nonIndigenous community leaders.
A strong sense of ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentiality.
A willingness to work outside normal hours and undertake occasional interstate travel.
