We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist with a strong background in Space and Defense industries. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively with engineering teams negotiate with suppliers and drive costsaving initiatives while ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for Aerospace Space and Defense programs ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on multiple programs to understand technical requirements and source optimal materials and components.
- Identify evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
- Lead contract negotiations ensuring favorable terms cost efficiencies and risk mitigation.
- Analyze cost structures and implement costsaving initiatives without compromising quality and performance.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR FAR DFARS and other relevant government regulations.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain market intelligence to stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements.
- Work crossfunctionally with finance quality and program management teams to optimize procurement processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Engineering Business or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 7 years of procurement experience in the Aerospace Space or Defense industry.
- Strong understanding of government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams on technical procurement needs.
- Proven track record of costsaving initiatives and supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
