Description
What you will do in the role
- Maintain and continually update knowledge of new technology products best practices trends etc. by consulting technical literature attendance at Cisco and Pure Storage events and conferences on an ongoing basis and disseminate this knowledge to the rest of your team
- Maintain and add qualifications/certifications that align to your technology areas
- Assist with new product introductions to the sales team and reseller channel utilising vendor and presales resources
Presales Responsibilities
- Provide presales support for the reseller channel and internal departments as required including answers to technical queries product suggestions proposals and tender responses
- Creation of bills of material (quotes) to match a customers solution requirements
- Providing customers (both internal and external) with solution responses via telephone or email queries
- Promote products and solutions to the reseller channel and internal departments via the use of demonstrations presentations meetings and seminars
- Generate training materials such as cheat sheets to aid in the dissemination of technical and ordering information to internal departments and resellers
- Update reseller Account Managers onany major solution recommendations to the reseller
- Build and promote both reseller awareness and loyalty by promoting the Dicker Data corporate profile services and products
- Build and maintain relationships at Cisco and Pure Storage through engagement with their technical and sales staff
- Liaise with internal sales and product management departments to promote a stronger technical relationship with the presales team
Skills And Experiences
What you will need to succeed in the role
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Tertiary qualifications preferred (Bch IT Bch Sci IT or similar)
- Cisco certifications minimum requirements CCNA CCDA
- Pure Storage certifications or relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of Cisco and Pure Storage products and technologies
- Previous experience using Cisco tools (CCW CSCC etc. and Pure Storage tools
- Strong analytical skills in assessing customer technical environments and needs
- Professional communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Relationship building skills
- Proactive orientation
- Able to work well in a team as well as autonomously
- Intermediate MS Office proficiency
