This is a grantfunded position. Funding for this position is contingent upon the terms of the grant. This position is funded through September 30 2029. This is a 52 week position yearround.Student Advising:Advises students on opportunities to gain experience through student activities community service student employment research projects cooperative education internships and other opportunities. Interprets various career assessments and counsel students by providing guidance to take initiative to develop career decisions review transfer/professional school plans employment plan options and jobsearch competencies as well as reviews student academic records portfolios and/or CPLE transfer credit and advises accordingly.
Student Success and Education Planning: Assists in developing a comprehensive plan to assist students in selecting personalized academic programs and experiential opportunities that optimize future educational and employment options. Obtains educational and occupational information for students to support student career and educational planning; develop their understanding of the world of work.
Career Advising and Job Prep: Provides ongoing career advising to students to develop a full range of career and work possibilities that match students career goals and workplace/transfer fit. Assists students with job searches consistent with degree program; supports jobsearch skill development effective candidate interviewing and presentation skills and the understanding of the fit between their competencies in contrast with occupational and job requirements; provide encouragement career mentoring and job counseling.
PreAdmission Guidance: Provides preadmission advising and career advising to students through scheduled appointments and dropins with individuals online/distance resources group programs career planning courses outreach opportunities special events information technology and other available resources in careers and employment.
Data Reporting and Compliance:Maintain directories databases and web resources for job search as well as collaborate with Pathway team to utilize data identifying students who benefit from services as well as participate in preenrollment campaigns and strategies. Use appropriate tools and software to generate and maintain applicable accurate student reports that are student specific meeting summaries and tracking notes. Assists in developing and ensuring compliance with policy and procedures manual for career services and assessments.
Customer Service and Engagement:Ensures delivery of excellent customer service advising including facetoface telephone online communication and webconferencing. Work with Pathway team to ensure delivery of accurate information of all College services. Collaborates with Pathway Dean to help plan and deliver new student orientations including oversight of online orientations and success workshops. Researches develops and delivers presentations requested for classes and student organizations covering various career topics.
Ethics and Confidentiality:Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles values truthfulness and accuracy in all actions. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidential and respectful manner.
Collaborative Teamwork and Stakeholder Relationship Management: Establishes maintains and enhances positive work relationships with students staff faculty and administrators.
Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups trainings workshops seminars committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learningincluding participating in College Advising center specific programming
Other duties: Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Compliance with all state federal and accreditation standards/requirement as well as all MATC policies and procedures.Required Education & Experience: Associates degree and three 3 or more years of related experience that includes customer facing support in an educational medical or other health sciences program setting and/or a related higher education student services area that interfaces with students and addresses their academic needs including broad knowledge of higher education academic programs including technical education general education and student services.
Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelors degree and two years 2 years of related experience that includes customer facing support in an educational medical or other health sciences program setting and/ or a related higher education student services area that interfaces with students and addresses their academic needs including broad knowledge of higher education academic programs including technical education general education and student services. One 1 or more years of experience working in a Guided Pathways environment.

Start Date:This position supports the STEM Pathway and is available to start immediately.
Hours & Location:Up to 40 hours per week inperson across multiple campuses. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours Monday Friday. Hours vary based on departmental needs. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Salary:Salary is determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity. Salary determination will be only based on years of credited experience that is listed on thejob application please include complete work history. This is a grantfunded position.
