The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) seeks a motivated and qualified individual for the Human Resource Consultant 4 (nonperm) position. This role is within the Executive Division and is based out of our Tumwater Office.

This nonpermanent position is expected to last approximately 6 months depending on the units needs.

About the Position

Are you a skilled and experienced Human Resources professionalThis is an exciting nonpermanent sixmonth assignment opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is passionate about providing highlevel guidance and support in key human resources functions.

In this role you will serve as a subject matter expert in theFamily Medical Leave Act shared leave reasonable accommodation processes and classification and compensation. You will work closely with HR partners managers and employees to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies and to promote equitable and consistent HR practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills sound judgment and the ability to communicate complex HR concepts clearly and effectively. Duties

The duties of the position include but are not limited to:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

A bachelors degree with focus on business human resources social or organizational behavioral sciences or related field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or a foreign equivalent.

AND

Three 3 years of fulltime broadbased senior consultant HR experience including advising and consulting on a variety of human resource issues to include providing interpretation of HR related rules laws collective bargaining agreements and policies and procedures. Experience should include a combination of the following: performance management; organizational and employee development; classification and compensation; and FMLA / reasonable accommodation.

OR

Seven 7 years of fulltime broadbased senior consultant HR experience including advising and consulting on a variety of human resource issues to include providing interpretation of HR related rules laws collective bargaining agreements and policies and procedures. Experience should include a combination of the following: performance management; organizational and employee development; classification and compensation; and FMLA / reasonable accommodation.


In addition to the above:


Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Two 2 or more years of experience providing professional level HR support within the WA state employment system to include interpretation of merit system rules.
  • Intermediate skill level with the State of WA HRMS (or similar SAP system) performing personnel actions. (Having readonly access is not considered performing personnel actions.
  • Experience providing professional level HR support in a unionized environment.
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office Word Excel and Outlook.
