Janet Q. Lawson Endowed Chair in Nursing Position Summary: The University of Utah College of Nursing seeks an established visionary educator and scholar to fill the Janet Q. Lawson Endowed Chair in Nursing. We seek a candidate who will provide vision and leadership in promoting exceptional student experiences while advocating for student academic success. The endowed chair is a 5year tenureline or careerline appointment renewable upon successful review. Academic rank and salary for this fulltime 12month appointment will be commensurate with qualifications. Criteria: The ideal candidate pursues innovation and develops ideas that transform nursing education and the student experience and prepares graduates to revolutionize healthcare. We seek candidates with accomplishments reflecting excellence in teaching developing curriculum inspiring and promoting the professional development of teaching faculty conducting innovative scholarship and/or research and performing professional service. Candidates who convey a strong commitment to improving access to higher education are highly must have earned a doctoral degree DNP or PhD) in nursing from an accredited program and hold a current Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license. Principal functions and responsibilities: Key responsibilities will include contributing to a robust program of educational scholarship and/or research with an emphasis on defining and progressing towards an exceptional education experience for students supporting and advancing teaching excellence among all faculty demonstrating and consulting on pedagogical best practices providing leadership in curriculum development and teaching innovation and mentoring junior faculty. The Endowed Chair will work closely with a dedicated and visionary leadership team to develop implement and evaluate a strategic plan for ensuring an exceptional educational experience for an increasingly diverse student body.
