24Summary:
The Behavioral Care Partner assumes the caretaker role for psychiatric patients on psychiatric or nonpsychiatric units such as medical/surgical floors PICU or the Emergency Department. Responsible for providing basic care to patients with mental health disorders or developmental disabilities under the direct supervision of an RN/LVN. Our ideal candidate will have a strong dedication to providing quality mental health care have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle stressful situations with sensitivity and professionalism. Behavioral Care Partners assist patients with activities of daily living maintain a safe environment and help manage any harmful behaviors while delivering competent and skilled care to patients.
Overnight Hours: 6:30 pm 7:00 am 2 days per week)
Required Education/Experience:
Requires one of the following: 1 Completion of a CNA course 2 Completion of Medical Assistant MA course or comparable health care provider program with course work in patient assessment/vital signs growth and development (or) 3 Completion of the first clinical semester in an accredited nursing program.
High school Diploma.
Experience working with children/adolescents in a psychiatric or mental health settings is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days of start.
CPI NonViolent Crisis Intervention Units 17 & 910 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
