What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitneys Mechanical Systems Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineering Professional. The Project Engineer will be responsible for partlevel ownership task planning and to ensure the Integrated Product Team (IPT) achieves goals for the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). The IPT has responsibility for the entire life cycle of the part and as such the Project Engineer will be engaged in activities ranging from validation testing to Engineering Changes from production delivery support to field support and investigations. Qualified candidates need to be able to effectively lead a diverse team of individuals to meet requirements and achieve goals. Candidates need to be technically proficient communicate effectively and be customer focused.

  • Provide project management and leadership to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) that includes design structural and manufacturing engineers.

  • Lead the IPT through successful technical and program reviews including the management and closure of key technical risks and issues.

  • Plan and manage IPT budgets schedule and technical metrics to requirements in collaboration with the CIPT.

  • Be accountable to CIPT for part level ownership including communication risk management and to program requirements.

  • Participate with the CIPT in communicating to engineering and program management.

  • Coordinating designs for development or operational engine programs (Class I & Class II Engineering Changes) fabrication (manufacturing/suppliers/vendor trips) validation (Engine BuildTestTeardown ACIs Analytical Condition Inspection FMRs Failure Malfunction Report) and sustainment (Component Field Limits MERLINField Inquiries Deviation Requests) activities.

  • English (read write speak) is required when communicating with customers coworkers or supervisors who only speak English

  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using CORE Operating System tools and support AS9100 efforts.

  • Based on business needs the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 5 years of project management experience within engineering or an Advanced Degree in Engineering and 3 years of project management experience within engineering.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S Citizenship is required as only U.S Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active and transferable U.S. governmentissued security clearance.

  • Trained Control Account Manager (CAM) & Proficient with Teamcenter MS Project and SAP

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies with experience in planning executing and delivering projects within an Agile framework.

  • Adept at utilizing Scrum practices to foster team collaboration manage sprints and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Mechanical Systems Externals and Nacelles Engineering is responsible for the design development and in service support of power transmission systems bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis oil and thermal management systems engine externals packaging and architecture as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering Mechanical Design Structural Analysis Product Definition System Modeling Mechanical Design analysis for bearings gears and seals and fluidthermal modeling of associated components and systems.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
