Job Description

Assistant Lodge Manager Luxury Safari Lodge North West
Salary: Negotiable Depending on Experience LiveIn Position

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager for a prestigious luxury safari lodge based in the North West. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong operational guest relations and team management skills to join an awardwinning team in a remote bush setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support daily lodge operations including housekeeping front office food & beverage and safari coordination

  • Ensure efficient and highquality service delivery across all departments

  • Monitor guest satisfaction address complaints and ensure consistent positive guest experiences

  • Host guests during mealtimes and activity stops providing personalized attention

  • Coordinate with chefs and kitchen teams to ensure timely and quality dining experiences

  • Manage inventory stock control and procurement processes

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Maintain compliance with health safety and hygiene regulations

Staff Management:

  • Schedule shifts and manage staff workload effectively

  • Conduct performance reviews and deliver constructive feedback

  • Foster a positive work culture promoting teamwork and service excellence

  • Provide training and development in line with company standards

  • Ensure staff adhere to company policies and uphold lodge standards

Financial & Administrative Duties:

  • Assist in budgeting cost control and financial reporting

  • Monitor sales trends and recommend pricing or product adjustments

  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely procurement

  • Oversee daily cashups reconciliations and maintain accurate records

Health Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce hygiene food safety and health regulations

  • Monitor sanitation in all service areas and ensure guest safety

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure lodge facilities are in excellent condition

Guest Relations:

  • Welcome guests upon arrival and manage the checkin process

  • Handle guest feedback inquiries and special requests professionally

  • Adapt activity planning to tailor experiences to guest preferences

Requirements:

  • 3 5 years experience in a fivestar lodge or hotel in an Assistant Management role

  • Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage operations

  • Proven financial acumen and administrative skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail and a passion for delivering luxury guest experiences

  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of reservation systems

  • Understanding of labor law and disciplinary procedures

  • Ability to lead motivate and mentor staff effectively

  • Willingness to work in a remote bush location

  • Knowledge of PAN systems is advantageous

  • Proficiency in a second language is beneficial
