IT System Administration Journey
Salary Consideration: Range 06IT Step A $85764 Step L $112536 annually.
The starting employment offer will be determined based on the successful candidates qualifications. Typically Step M of the pay range is a longevity step. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies.

The Opportunity:
The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) is seeking to fill the role of an IT System Administrator Journeywithin the Information Services Section of the Administrative Services Division to oversee the agencys SharePoint farm and support staff with various data management tasks including Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Hybrid:
Although this is a hybrid opportunity the successful incumbent must reside within Washington state and must be available to report to the Lacey Washington headquarters building as needed.
Travel:
Local travel mostly within Thurston County is required to attend training and meetings. Occasional travel to Seattle will be required. Infrequent travel in or out of state may be required to support commissions hearings attend training or attend professional conferences.

The Position:
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager the position involves interpreting and applying IT security policies developing security procedures monitoring IT security systems and audit logs responding to security incidents and providing expertlevel technical support for complex or escalating issues.
What youll do:
As a JourneyLevel Systems Administrator this position oversees the agencys SharePoint farm and supports staff with various data management tasks. Responsibilities include designing creating planning capacity managing organizing migrating and transforming data such as SharePoint intranet content application and web content GIS data and other agency datasets. The role involves supporting agencywide information systems managing IT projects evaluating new technologies and providing highlevel consultation analysis and maintenance for both new and existing data systems.
As the Commissions expert in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tasks will include developing implementing and maintaining GIS maps applications and resources. This includes links to company information maintained in various types of databases and provides agency staff with information needed to support the regulation of utilities transportation companies railroads and other regulated utilities.
