As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cross Risk Calculation Team which is aligned to Corporate Technology Division youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
The team has a large book of work with the key objectives of simplifying the technology architecture and operating model providing scalable solutions and resilient infrastructure and driving wholesale credit transformation to support business growth and new or changing business requirements.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develop conceptual logical and physical data models to support business requirements and analytical needs.
- Design and implement relational and nonrelational database schemas.
- Optimize existing data models for performance scalability and maintainability.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across different databases and systems.
- Oversee the maintenance optimization and performance tuning of existing database systems.
- Add to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
- Work with the team to plan prioritize and deliver quality solutions to meet business needs.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Strong Oracle Database Development skillsincluding SQL PL/SQL Database Design and Stored Procedures
- Proficient in data modeling tools (e.g. ERwin PowerDesigner).
- Experience with relational and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data governance data quality management and regulatory standards.
- Practical strong experience with SDLC standards and frameworks (e.g. Git Bitbucket unit and integration testing)
- Experience with of cloudnative data and database technologies.
- Must be curious detailoriented results and clientfocused fast leaner and highly motivated by complex analytical and data problems.
- Ability to convey design choices and results clearly and communicate effectively to stakeholders of various backgroundsand technical services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Strong development skills in Python or similar programming language highly desirable
- Proven track record in architecting implementing and delivering largescale Oracle cloud database migration projects in commercial contexts preferably in AWS.
- Knowledge of big data technologies modern data engineering practices frameworks and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB Cassandra or DynamoDB.
