Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Baseball Coach
Reporting Relationship: Head Baseball Coach
Unit: IWU Marion
Department: Intercollegiate Athletics IWU Marion
Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach to develop manage and successfully coach baseball to include scheduling recruiting equipment management reporting scores and statistics and website updating
- Ensure strict adherence to all NAIA bylaws and regulations
- Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules policies and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior
- Ensure satisfactory academic performance of studentathletes
- Ensure the spiritual physical emotional and social welfare of studentathletes
- Responsible for successful coaching to include maximizing the teams potential/abilities keeping athletes eligible supporting the spiritual development of each player and retaining athletes through graduation
- Assist to propagate a comprehensive public relations program
- Assist the operations of sport camps and/or clinics
- Learn understand and adhere to all NAIA rules
- Assist in coordinating and developing organized schedules
- Assist in planning and implementing daily practice sessions
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- Bachelors Degree required
Experience
- Need to be gifted in supervising and motivating others
- Must be creative and innovative discerning and a thorough planner
- Must subscribe to the principles and lifestyle of the Wesleyan Church
Required Skills
- Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment
- Needs to passionately support and articulate the University mission and vision for athletics within the context of that mission
