Job Description

Amazons Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) organization is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to shape the future of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning.

Were seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to join our emerging team working with Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and AWS leadership to deliver innovative and performant products to customers of AI worldwide. This role is called to dive deep into current and future customer needs and deliver actionable insights that drive development and improvement of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning as it relates to products like AWS Trainium Inferentia Sagemaker HyperPod. Primary deliverables are reports with narratives that cover both the qualitative and quantitative aspects and ultimately push the AWS teams to improve customer experiences and products.

The role requires above all to stay on top of AI developments at a deep technical level while cultivating an understanding of the areas where customers stand to benefit the most. The candidate we will welcome on the team excels at influencing stakeholders without formal authority across a wide range of technical profiles and seniority levels. They write with crystalclear precision and their verbal communication is crisp and concise.

Key job responsibilities
Own study lifecycle from scoping to to delivery of findings and recommendations to AGI and AWS leadership
Continuously absorb and share knowledge about the latest product and scientific developments relevant to the Machine Learning (ML) AI Accelerators purpose built hardware
Create and contribute to team roadmap by synthesizing AWS product plans customer needs and industry trends
Design and build proof of concept experiments that best describe the experience of the customer experiences powered by ML
Create product/feature proposals to scale and automate the process of evaluating those customer experiences
Create scalable mechanisms and best practices effectively influence strategic direction
Able to deconstruct complex technical topics into straightforward solutions and/or evaluation mechanisms

Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understand and improve customer experience globally. We are a team of builders that develop products services ideas and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings for almost every business at Amazon for every customer (e.g. consumers developers sellers/brands employees investors streamers gamers).

Our approach is based on determining the customer need along with problem solving and we work backwards from there. We use technical and nontechnical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team made up of diverse set of profiles skills and backgrounds including: Product Managers Software Developers Computer Vision experts Solutions Architects Data Scientists Business Intelligence Engineers Business Analysts Risk Managers and more.

12 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
Bachelors degree in computer science engineering mathematics or equivalent
Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising endtoend technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
Experience communicating across technical and nontechnical audiences and at Clevel including training workshops publications
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executivelevel prioritization and planning

Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives IT management and developers
Experience architecting migrating transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
Knowledge with Machine Learning (ML) GenAI model building Deep Learning as it relates to products like AWS Trainium Inferentia Sagemaker HyperPod (or equivalent)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
