BUILD Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed selfmotivated and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention violence prevention and youth development organization based on Chicagos West Side. Since 1969 BUILD has worked to save lives and mentor young people who live in the citys most challenged neighborhoods. The Career Pathways Coordinator will develop implement and manage employment programs for youth ages 1824 in collaboration with BUILD program leaders. This role involves working closely with young people to help them identify and gain the skills experience and confidence needed to secure and persist in internships enroll in accredited programs and credentialing training and find employment. The coordinator will collaborate with local businesses educational institutions and community organizations to provide career opportunities and support services for youth. The Career Pathways Coordinator will report directly to the Chief Community Officer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement youth employment programs and initiatives.
  • Provide oneonone career counseling and job readiness training.
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create job opportunities.
  • Organize job fairs workshops and training sessions.
  • Assist youth in creating resumes preparing for interviews and developing job search strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of program participants.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program outcomes.
  • Advocate for youth employment issues within the community.



Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as social work education human services or a related discipline OR a minimum associates degree or certification in workforce development.
  • At least two 2 years of experience working with youth in youth development career counseling or educational settings.
  • At least one year of program management experience including developing and implementing programs.
  • At least two years of experience building partnerships with businesses educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively counsel and support youth.
  • Experience in organizing events like job fairs workshops and training sessions.
