Job Description

Overview

The successful applicant will help keep campus grounds in neat and orderly condition by performing assigned duties. This is a temporary seasonal position beginning May 1 2024 and ending August 31 2024

Responsibilities

  • Operate large power lawn mowers edger hand tools and vehicles associated with grounds maintenance and landscaping activities.
  • Operate and maintain water sprinkler systems and time clocks.
  • Maintain landscape and flower areas remove debris from stairs and sidewalks rake leaves and keep parking lots clean of garbage.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Availability to work Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from May 1 2022 to August 31 2022.

  • Minimum of 2 years running lawn equipment or something similar.

  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects.

$10.00 to $12.00 an hour based on experience

Moderate Physical Duties:

The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting 50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling kneeling and squatting. Additionally the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) walking bending stooping kneeling and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing repetitive hand motions and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
