is looking for bestinclass Network Engineers to drive the deployment scaling and automation of one of the worlds largest and complex networks: the AWS Direct Connect service the service that connects AWS to our largest customers in data centers around the world. The AWS Direct Connect team delivers solutions that make it easy for customers to establish a dedicated network connection from their premises to the AWS cloud. These connections help to reduce network costs increase bandwidth throughput and provide a more consistent network experience than Internetbased connections. AWS Direct Connect is currently available in more than 100 locations which span nearly 70 cities in 30 different countries.

Key job responsibilities
Network Development Engineers will:
Deploy scale and automate our network across multiple global datacenters. This includes existing footprints and greenfield locations.
Drive scaling of current network designs to meet the demand of our customers.
Create simple repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
Create and implement changes on the network.
Work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at higher volume.

Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in a largescale network environment
1 years experience in a network focused handson technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.
1 years Unix/Linux command line experience

Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking IP routing Server Load Balancing and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP TCP OSPF/ISIS BGP MPLS Server Load Balancers Firewalls ACLs DNS DHCP IPAM LDAP NFS etc.
Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically network performance analysis
Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem and work toward resolution
Strong desire to build ability to multitask sense of ownership and urgency.
Strong Unix/Linux skills and ability to script in Perl Python shell C or C is highly desirable as is a strong understanding of load balancing and layer 47 technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
