Job Description
Overview
Hours: 40Hour 11 pm 7 am OnCall Rotating Holidays Weekends as needed
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the chief engineer this person is responsible for shift coverage in plant operations. Some minor maintenance responsibilities are required.
Responsibilities
- Conducts interactions with everyone in a friendly courteous and respectful manner.
- Goes out of his/her way to offer assistance to others. If he/she cannot offer assistance then finds someone who can.
- Advocates to ensure privacy and confidentiality while helping others to maintain awareness.
- Maintains a clean and safe hospital.
- Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations.
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients visitors and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort and minimize risk and injury.
- Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure.
- Complies with the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
- Completed all Hospital and Department Specific Mandatory requirements in the prior calendar year.
- Reports Incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- All employees with direct patient contact are responsible for actively engaging in the practice of monitoring and enforcing compliance to hand hygiene.
- Removes or arranges for removal of safety hazards from environment immediately to prevent potential safety hazards from occurring.
- Maintains Boiler Plant Equipment so that boiler works properly and all OSHA requirements are met.
- Performs routine painting on the piping so it is color coded to meet OSHA requirements.
- Reviews all logs and makes recommendations reviews equipment when down for annual maintenance and vender performs quarterly tests.
- Completes 100 of corrective work orders daily.
- Completes 100 of preventive work orders monthly.
- Completes documentation so that the supervisor receives 100 of daily reports
- Responds appropriately to utility failures.
Qualifications
- High school vocational or trade school graduate
- Five to Seven years experience working with boilers and steam generating equipment.
- Ability to make repairs meeting exact standards is required.
- Second Class Firemans License or 3rd Class Engineers License or higher required
- Drivers License Preferred.
