About National Trust Queensland & Currumbin Wildlife Hospital
Since its creation in 1989 Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world now treating over 16000 animals every year. In addition the hospital provides veterinary care to the Sanctuary captive animal collection and conducts worldleading research and conservation projects often working collaboratively with esteemed education and government partners.
The hospital is located within the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary one of 14 properties managed by National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ). NTAQ is a membershipbased environmental organisation and registered charity that works toconserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
To support the Wildlife Hospital operations we have opportunity for aPermanent Full Time or Part Time Veterinarianto join our highly respected Wildlife Hospital Team that comprises a team of 11 veterinarians 29 vet nurses a Lab Technician and a dedicated Research Team.
About the Role
The Wildlife Hospital is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients. We are equipped with advanced technologies including flexible and rigid endoscopy digital radiography ultrasonography and a diagnostic lab including qPCR and blood gases. In our dynamic and fastpaced environment our dedicated veterinarians deliver exceptional veterinary care to Australian wildlife engaging in both clinical and surgical duties according to their level of experience.
You will collaborate with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to ensure the care and welfare of the animals at our clinic. Additionally you will have the opportunity to assist in research projects that align with our Mission. We offer flexible shift times that can be adjusted to meet the needs of the right candidate.
About You
To be successful in this role you will hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent recognised qualification able to be registered in Queensland and have prior experience working with wildlife and exotic species. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
