Position Summary:
The Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine seeks a highly skilled and motivated faculty member at the rank of Assistant/ Associate/Full Professor to serve as a biostatistician. The role will primarily focus on providing specialized statistical expertise to support and enhance the missions of the College including medical student and residency skill development and research in clinical and biomedical science. The position will allow the ability to pursue an independent but relevant research agenda.

The Biostatistician Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position will include but is not limited to the following collaborative responsibilities throughout the College on relevant research:
General support for COMwide research and scholarly efforts
- Assist with research methodology study design collection and analysis of data grant applications and post award and IRB submission.
- Provide statistical support for faculty members and learners for research and quality projects related to medical education and clinical care.
- Support preparation of manuscripts posters and other presentation formats.
- Provide training and workshops on statistical methodologies for faculty members and learners including biostatistics population health and research methods as applicable.
Support biomedical science (BMS) undergraduate (UME) and graduate (GME) medical educational programs
- Work with BMS UME and GME program leadership to assess analyze and improve the effectiveness of educational initiatives identifying areas for improvement and innovation in education.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evidencebased strategies to enhance educational experiences for students and residents.
- Generate reports and provide insights to assist in the continuous improvement of the educational programs.
- Oversee the collection management and analysis of educational data ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Implement quality control measures to enhance the validity and reliability of assessment data.
Support for biomedical clinical sciences and population health research
- Provide broad methodological statistical and analytical support for faculty regarding grant applications research projects and reports and other aspects of research.
- In collaboration with research faculty provide support for graduate students and postdoctoral trainees.
Collaborative Network Development
- Foster collaborations with other educators statisticians and researchers at FAU colleges and external institutions to share best practices and enhance our research capabilities.
Develop or establish own independent preferably funded line(s) of research
Participate in service at the departmental college and university levels
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree (MD PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field such as statistics biostatistics or epidemiology
Training and expertise in advanced methodology and statistical analysis with demonstrated expertise in the context of medical education clinical or biomedical science research epidemiology artificial intelligence or data science.
Evidence of scholarly experience and productivity
Previous experience in a healthcare or medical education environment is highly preferred.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g. R SAS SPSS) and data visualization tools. Knowledge of relevant programming languages is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex statistical concepts to nonexperts.
Proven ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and establish productive collaborations with educators clinicians and faculty members.
Applicants with teaching experience with students/residents/fellows experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices and/or clinical research/scholarship experience will be most competitive.
