Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment BankAthena Rates Group youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develop secure highquality production code reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomesoriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leadingedge technologies
- Add to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Should participate in designing and developing scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual and iterative improvements for product teams
- Should have extensive experience in Python with React
- Should have experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.
- Should have handson practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Should be proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle automation and continuous delivery methods
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Indepth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
